What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 I should have said that the blog posts will be out of whack time-wise - at least this morning, since I am now three hours behind my usual time zone. 

And YES -- the chocolates could have been on sale, which is why I didn't get the senior discount. DUH! I didn't notice that fact when I picked them up. There are days when I wonder how I manage to get through the day and still be alive! 

This is NOT good news for my foot - I think I'm going to lose another toenail. It's looking pretty sketchy ...

I goofed!!! The painted eyes on Cathy's raccoons were done by Cloe, not Colette! Cathy has way too many quilting friends and sisters—I can't keep them straight! Thanks for the correction!

Good grief --- I was attempting to delete all those spam comments, but there are so many of them, and my Wi-Fi this morning is a bit slow. I'll have to try getting rid of more of them later tonight, GRRRR!!! Those darn bots can be a total pain!

I received an email this morning from a broker stating that my package is awaiting payment for the broker or shipping charges. The courier is in South Africa. I think not - delete. Still, it does make you wonder how many people would click on that link to fill out the "payment ...

 AHA -- another great idea about getting rid of the SCRAPBOOK stamps is to check with retirement homes! I need to make a few enquiries over the next couple of months and then see what I can do. It would be great to empty that closet --- I know she will fill it up again, but as long as she is not buying new stuff, I'm OK with moving things in there so it's less messy!

Before heading out to my parents to say goodbye, I exchanged the socks. And filled up that monster truck with gas. Good grief - a half tank cost $80! I can't even put that much gas in my totally empty car! 

Let's say it was NOT memorable from a pleasure point of view. I knew it would be an uncomfortable trip and was not disappointed. 

I'm happy to report that I got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. I was at the gate at least 60 minutes BEFORE the flight was to leave. Positively loads of time. However, the airport was busy (Monday morning), and more and more people have NEXUS passes, so that line was long, but not nearly as long as the other one. It was a pleasant surprise to see how busy the fourth and final day of Salon Quebec was. Shows usually peter out, but this one kept going strong until almost the end, making the day pass quickly. 

Many people came to the booth, and I was pretty handy at presenting a sewing machine in French. I need to find a place in Montreal to stay for six months! Imagine how much better I would be. And I could offer my services (for free) at a sewing machine ...

We had a fabulous day yesterday!!! I took no pictures as it was a hectic day. I had all my stuff sorted in the classroom, so it was super easy to get set up. All I had to do was connect the computer. I forgot to bring another piece of cable equipment to hook up my camera. It's been a while, so I must make a list and put it in the cable box for the next time I travel. But no worries—it all worked out.

Jeans—you have to love them!!! But yes, that was NOT a typo—an entire bedroom (two of them) to store their clothes, and it looks like a closet with proper double hangs and shelves!!! I'm dying to get home and purge!!!

For memories like high school or any other topic, designate one box as the memory box, and when it's full, that's it!!! I need to do that as I have two medium-sized tubs with stuff from high school and a few other mementos from when I was a kid. I don't really have a home for two - I have a good home for one. It's so good to be home and know I can sleep in my bed for a week. Although the days will be long as I attend some work-related classes/meetings, I'm just an attendee, so nothing has to be prepared! 

I was up early yesterday—I didn't sleep well, and I was in a different time zone. I hadn't eaten well the day before, or should I say at the party. There was tons of nibble food, and it was good, but I just wasn't super hungry. I had eaten a large breakfast that morning ...

And here is why I hate traveling with DH. It's very early in the morning here, and he's asleep, so I'm in the lobby with my portable office. It's not the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last. Renting a condo or a house is an excellent way to get around this, but it wasn't an option for this trip. However, we are staying at a very nice Holiday Inn. Although, weirdly, they do not have a business center ...

OK—this one was weird in the world of travel days. I was flying United, which I do not usually fly, but they are a Star Alliance Partner with Air Canada, so that's why I was on that flight. We left the house in plenty of time, but about 5 km from the airport, the traffic slowed almost to a standstill. Hmm—this is not good. But we had time—as long as I arrived one hour before my flight to drop my baggage.

Yesterday was all about getting from one continent to another! I had a terrible night's sleep in the hotel. It wasn't terrible, but I just couldn't get to sleep. I tried everything—eating something, going to the bathroom, reading, counting sheep, thinking about projects I have to work on—and NOTHING. At last, I fell asleep and woke up when I needed to. 

There was construction going on outside my window at the train station, but it wasn't loud—I think I was just excited. I'm certainly excited about typing on a full-sized keyboard!

I'm home, and there was no blog yesterday. We were up at the crack of dawn and then whisked off to the airport. One of my colleagues and I were on the same flight, so it made sense to travel together. But first, I want to return to the show's last day. 

The last day was another great one, ending early at 4 PM. I'm not sure why, but it still seemed busy the entire day, and I don't think any part of the show passed slowly for us. I was helping out in the classrooms ...

It was an interesting travel day for our group. We all flew at different times, and we all had delay issues with our flights. However, no one's flight was canceled. 

The airline was 30 minutes late with our flight, but then there was something going on with one of the passengers, and it took about 45 minutes to get him organized in his seat. He needed some medical equipment installed under the seat - oxygen? It couldn't have been oxygen, as when I Googled that, the airlines do NOT provide medical oxygen. Hmmm -- I wonder what was in the ...

I'm home! I can't even call it a travel day since I did a lot during the day and my flight was at 7:15 p.m. The plane arrived, and we left early. We arrived 22 minutes early last night, but with the time change, I wasn't home until 1 a.m. I think a nap will be in order today!

Oh dear—I see people are in this folder, which only has pictures. I'm in another time zone and should have gotten myself organized and written about it. I'm tired today, as yesterday was a long day. 

Thanks for the tips on the tech stuff. The SENT folder is the next one to investigate, as there are all those big files I've sent over the years. What I do not understand is that even after deleting many emails and attachments, the file size has increased, NOT decreased. What the heck is going on? Well, I hope to ...

Someone mentioned that the navigation system works well because it uses Android Car Play. YES --- that is exactly the reason. My other car was a 2019 model, and it only had Apple Car Play, which was useless to me. The system that Toyota devised for navigation was also useless, and in five years, I think I was able to connect it twice. 

The whole process now is seamless. And we have two drivers—who knows what DH does when he's in the car! I do have to touch a few buttons after he's been driving by himself, but ...

I was WIDE AWAKE at 3:30 and waited patiently for my alarm to ring at 4:30, which it did, and then, well, I just had a good sleep, and now I'm behind! But that's OK. 

I didn't sleep well on the plane for some reason, but that's a story for another day.
